Andy Russell grew up in North Carolina in a family rich with natural storytellers. His personal stories reflect those roots- spending time with his grandparents, fishing with a cane pole and making music with friends. His years as a songwriter in Nashville bring additional depth and humor
Andy will be a Featured Teller at the Suncoast Storytelling Festival later in 2026, and at the Florida Storytelling Festival in January 2027.
Andy has appeared at Georgia Mountain Storytelling Festival, Stone Soup Storytelling Festival, and the Cracker Storytelling Festival, and has presented solo programs at the Hampton History Museum, Sinai Residences and The Classical Academy.
In 2025, Andy won the annual StorySlam Championship by Six Feet Apart Productions. He has been featured on multiple online programs, including MoonShine Stories, Traditions and Truth, Better Said Than Done and Good Liars Club.
He lives in Ocala, Florida with his dog and a three-legged cat.
